We're a small, independent website. We collect as little as possible - we just want you to enjoy the site. Daily Paws respects your privacy. This page explains what personal information may be collected when you use our website, contact us, sign in, or sign up for updates.
Who we are
Daily Paws is a UK-based entertainment website for dog lovers. You can contact us at support@dailypaws.co.uk. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.
Information we may collect
- Contact details you send to us by email, such as your name, email address, and message.
- Email address if you subscribe to our newsletter via Mailchimp.
- Email address and public profile name provided by Google if you sign in using Google. This is used only to create and identify your account and is stored by Supabase.
- Your chosen display name, avatar, and game scores if you use leaderboard or account features.
- Basic website analytics such as pages visited and device/browser type, collected by Cloudflare Web Analytics (see below).
How we use information and our lawful basis
- Replying to enquiries and support requests - our legitimate interest in responding to customers.
- Sending newsletter updates - based on your consent, given when you subscribe.
- Website analytics - our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not track individuals across sites.
- Account and leaderboard features - based on your consent, given when you choose to sign in. Your display name, avatar, and scores are stored to provide these features. Your Google email address is used only to identify your account and is not shared with other users or used for marketing.

How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the reason it was collected, including legal, accounting, support, and fraud-prevention purposes.
